Race towards Ultimate Championship intensifies

The second half of the Wanda Diamond League season is under way as the race towards the Diamond League Final in Brussels (4-5 September) and the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest (11-13 September) intensifies.

July kicked off with the ninth Diamond League meeting of the year – the Prefontaine Classic at Eugene's Hayward Field, the venue that will again welcome athletes from around the globe for next month's World U20 Championships.

The Diamond League also heads to Monaco and London this month, while the final meeting on this year's World Athletics Continental Tour Gold calendar will see many of the world's best athletes head to Budapest for the Gyulai István Memorial on 14 July, just under two months out from the inaugural Ultimate Championship taking place in the Hungarian capital.

July also features the second of this season's two national outdoor championships windows.
